Hello everyone!
Everything is really good here in Africa! It gets hotter and hotter everyday. (I just found out that chase is forwarding these to mrs. shaheen she is going to be so mad at my spelling!) lol. This week was a way good week! I haven't been feeling very well but now I am feeling alot better. I have a funny story. So we have these guys that live on our street that we have been teaching. There is three of them. And they are in college so they are never around and they bounce appointments with us alot! So we were walking home and they were all there so we stopped to see when we could meet with them. So we were just sitting down talking with them. my companion was kind of interrigating them asking them why they always bounce. And while we are talking I look up on the wall and there is a HUGE spider on the wall. I mean if i put my hand up next to it with my fingers spread out it would be bigger than my hand. by far the biggest spider i have seen. So im ready to freak out and my companion is just kind of looking at me like what is wrong with you?lol So finally there is kind of a silent moment and i tap my companion and im like look at the wall. So he looks and he just starts laughing really hard because he knows how bad i hate spiders. so the guys look up and they see the spider and they are like oh ya a spider and just keep talking like its no big deal and so my campanion was all my companion here really hates spiders. and the guy was all oh this little guy? AND HE REACHES UP AND GRABS IT! and it fell to the floor and came towards me. so by now im standing on my chair and my companion is laughing so hard that he cant even talk and im like no no no kill it. and the guys are just looking at me like what is your problem and there are people walking by on the street looking at me and i heard one guy say opoto no like spider. (opoto means the same thing as pumwi just white man) lol so everyone is now laughing at me and then the guy grabs the spider and takes it to the other side of the porch and i sat back down and we just continued talking and they were all just kind of laughing i never felt so stupid. BUT THAT THING WAS HUGE! and those guys told me that i will see way bigger than that here. So i guess i should have put that i have arachnophobia on my mission forms. Anyways so we have a baptism on this saturday for Brother steven and brother williams. should be really cool. alot of the missionaries know brother stevens so there will be a big attendance i think. I love my district. I actually like being the only white person in the apartment. The african elders are really good cooks. Today elder kargbo was showing me how to make this....food lol with all the food that we have at the apartment it was actually really good. Pres and sis squires came to bo yesterday and left today im not really sure why. but pres came and inspected our apartment this morning and he had a package for me! so sweet! it was that first one you sent me mom. the candy was really good and the canned chicken and stuff. but a rat got into the beef jerky that was pretty dissapointing and my charleston chews were all melted but i have them in the freezer so maybe we will get small power today and they will harden up. I got a few dear elder letters too it was so cool! Anyways not much else here keep writing letters I love getting them! I hope everyone knows about dearelder. If not then contact my dad or ciera or someone and they will let you know. thank you all so much for the support! pray for the peoples hearts here in africa to be open and accepting to the gospel.
