Hello,
Well this week was good. Everything is going really good. We have been so blessed. We have been finding the most amazing people to teach. There was this family that they began teaching in Thunderhill branch and then they transferred into our area and it has been the biggest battle trying to get them to switch and start coming to grafton branch and then they would bounce appointments and the previous missionaries that were teaching them would speak so highly of them and kept telling me how well they were progressing which was the exact opposite from what we have been seeing. We have been trying really hard to work with them and help them meet people in the branch and fell comfortable there but it just seemed like nothing was working. So yesterday they didn't come to church and so I called the husband and just said we would love to come and visit you this evening will you be at home and he said YA we would love to have you over. So i was like GOLDEN. So I went straight over to brother Bai's house and asked him if there was anyway he would be able to come and help and fellowship this family. So we got to his house and he was really busy helping his wife with something and so i said its ok maybe next time. And then he started asking me about this family so i explained the situation to him and he looked at me and said well Elder Lancaster I feel like we really need to visit this family today. So he turned to his wife and said you can due with out me for a little while right? And we jumped in his little truck thing that he built himself and we drove over to the families house. So we start talking with the husband and he and brother Bai actually get along really well. So then we started the lesson and so we had decided to talk about priesthood because his daughter and been really really sick with malaria the last time we had visited them and so we taught about the priesthood and it went really well. Then Brother Bai looked at me and said Elder Lancaster can I have a moment and i said ya no problem. He turned to Brother Gandi and just started to bare the most sincere testimony i have ever heard talking about experiences he has had with his children with giving them priesthood blessings and talking about how the gospel has changed his life. He talked about how much he loved the organization of the church and being able to come together with the priesthood brethren and work together. And he Told Brother Gandi that heavenly father needs him at this time. That heavenly father needs him to hold the priesthood and come and help establish his church in Sierra Leone. It was so amazing! Brother Gandi loved it and was saying how much he loves the church and how they have been visiting other churches too at the same time but that those churches just dont feel right and how this one feels right. And his wife actually has been a muslim her whole life and he was saying how this is the only church she likes to go to and man it was just so great! And it turns out that brother Bai's daughter is the same age as the gandi's daughter and just everything went so well. after Brother Bai gave us a ride all the way to our apartment. And was talking to us about it and said how much he could feel the spirit and stuff. It was an amazing experience. Also yesterday we got to watch general conference for church. We watched the sunday morning session it was so good. I really hope i get to see more sessions I loved it. Also we had our zone conference which was amazing as usual. President showed us some statistics that made us really happy. He compared us to the other missions in west africa and our numbers are just off the charts compared to theres. He said that he keeps telling the District presidents to get ready to start splitting there branches and making new ones because if his missionaries keep baptizing at the rate that we are baptizing then the church is going to grow like a wild fire. And it truly is its so crazy how many baptisms we are having in this mission. The church is growing so much here! I think by the end of my mission I'm going to see some really cool things happen in this country concerning the growth of the church. Anyways everything is going really good! I love it here and am working hard. Thank you for all of the love and support.
Elder Lancaster
