The Work Continues...

Hello,

Well another good week. We had a baptism on Saturday we baptized these 2 girls name Jenneh and Hawa. There cousin who they are living with just came home from his mission so he got to be the one to baptize them. We are also having another baptism this Saturday for a girl named Doris. So the work is going really well. The wellington 1 Elders went up to Christianas house which is just up the hill from the restaurant if we stand on our front porch we can see there kitchen outside where they cook and stuff. anyways they went up there and taught them and said they had a really good lesson and then Christiana gave them a tour of the extension they are building on to there house and then she said when they got to the guest part of the house she said to them and this is elder Lancasters room for when he and Ciera come back to visit ha ha. I was like sweet! But they said it was a really good lesson. Christianas daughter Mabel is still progressing the most out of all of them. I think Christianas husband still doesn't know quite how he feels about it all so Christiana is being a bit cautious. Because here you do whatever your husband tells you kind of a thing so its going to be interesting how it all plays out. But i know over time Mr. Anslows heart will be softened. This already week 3 of 6 of this transfer seems like its going quick! I have started thinking a lot about this transfer. Because really anything could happen with me I could stay in this area or I could go. I really would like to be right where i am for Christmas. Especially because Christmas day is also Christianas birthday. But if i go somewhere else then i will just adjust and go with it. I'm trying not to count but i remembered today that next week will be my 11th month mark! That's crazy! once i get over the hill of one year I'm going to stop counting again so that time will just go without me noticing. So here is another really cool story! So a while ago i talked about this family that lives up on the hill in my area in a big pink house and i mentioned it was the first house here that i had seen with a doorbell! So we have been teaching this 16 yr old girl there named Nancy! She is way cool and progressing very well. All the returned missionaries in the branch are after her and i keep having to remind them that she is 16. Anyways her mom told us when we first started going there that she has her own church but that we were welcome to the house anytime and that she wanted us to baptize all of her children and take them to church she is way cool i love her. Everytime we go there she cooks for us and is just way awesome. So like.. 2 weeks ago we were teaching Nancy about tithing and fast offering and were showing the slip and everything and how it is all done and how you go in at the end of the year for settlement and they show you all the money you have donated and you make sure the records were accurate and taught her how the money was used and how no one in the church is payed and stuff. And all of the sudden the mom (auntie Lovetta) came in and was like wait explain that all again. She had been listening outside the door and stuff and wanted us to show her and so we did and she was like wow you that's really cool and was like i really like all your doctrine that you have been teaching since you have come here and stuff. She said in fact that is something i have been wanting to ask my pastor is where does my tithe money go. She said this Sunday I'm going to go early and ask him. So we were like ok and just went on with our thing and left. then we came back that next Wednesday and we weren't even up the hill yet and she starts yelling down to us Guess what my pastor said!! ha ha i was like wait let us get to the top and we will talk about it haha. So we got up there were like all of out breathe and she just goes off. So i talked to my pastor and asked him where my money goes and you know what he told me!! He told me that the tithe money i pay is for him for his living to eat and all this stuff. She said the other thing that makes me mad is he drove up in a brand new Mercedes!! She was SO MAD!! she said I'm going to leave that church!! haha. So her daughter was like mom you should come with me to latta days and she was like well not yet but im seriously leaving my church ha ha. So then the next time my companion went there without me because we were on exchanges and he taught the word of wisdom and I guess Auntie Lovetta loved it she was saying how other churches don't teach this but how true it is and stuff. and then last Wednesday we went there and taught The Law of Chastity and she was so happy that we were teaching her daughter about the importance of this because she is always talking to her daughter about it because the boys here are very bad and stuff. Anyways she is awesome! She hasn't come to church yet but we are really working with her. Her main problem is she has just been in the other church for so long that it is hard for her to leave. I am working on finding some good friends for her in the branch that we can take there so her transition will be easier. Her husband is a Muslim and says hi to us but thats about it but hopefully one day! I love sharing the good stuff with you so that you can see how good the work is going but of coarse we have those investigators who don't progress. We have one man who we are teaching named Arthur who has a testimony of the restoration. When he talks about it he is just like it makes sense. But he just will not be baptized and it is so frustrating but we just continue to pray for him and hope that even if its not while we are here but one day maybe he will be baptized. Well sorry this letter is kinda different then the other ones i have sent but i hope its ok. Thank you all for the love and support! When ever i start feeling homesick i just remember that its going to start getting cold for everyone back home and its only getting hotter here!!! so then I'm happy with where i am haha. love you all.
